Israeli security forces on Tuesday sealed shut the West Bank home of a Palestinian who killed an Israeli border policeman in a November car-ramming attack in the West Bank.

Israel says home sealing and demolitions are an effective tool to deter attacks.

Critics say the tactic amounts to collective punishment.

The move comes amid a five month-long wave of Israeli-Palestinian violence that has killed 28 Israelis and 172 Palestinians.

Israel says the violence stems from incitement by Palestinians.

The Palestinians say it's rooted in frustrations over Israel's nearly half a century-long occupation.
