History is calling David Ortiz's name.

The Boston Red Sox designated hitter entered Saturday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays two home runs shy of the 500-mark. Now that number is one after he hit his 499th career homer off Rays left-hander Matt Moore.

"David Ortiz is all about putting up a good at-bat against anybody," interim manager Torey Lovullo said on "Red Sox First Pitch" before Saturday's game. "Just because he has a situation where he's got good numbers against (Moore), I don't think that went into any of his thought process, nor mine."
