MONTREAL - Taxi drivers in Montreal are promising to block a large chunk of downtown Montreal in the latest protest against ride-sharing service Uber.

Taxi sheriff Hassan Kattoua told Global News cabbies were told to assemble on Sherbrooke and René-Lévesque streets.

"From Saint-Laurent to Crescent streets," he said.

Protests are also planned on Thursday and at the Montreal Casino on Saturday.

Kattoua told Global News taxi drivers plan to protest every week until something is dome about Uber.
