Schuyler Vanwissens is charged with first-degree murder of Gina Swanson, a single mother who was brutally killed inside her home on May 14, 2011. Swanson was found in her home on Edderton Avenue by her father, a retired police officer. Police arrested Vanwissens , then 26,  in Toronto in August 2011 and charged him with first-degree murder and assault with a weapon.
