The Duke Blue Devils won their first bowl game since the 1961 Cotton Bowl with their 44-41 overtime win over the Indiana Hoosiers in the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium on Saturday. However, the game ended in a cloud of controversy.
The Blue Devils were down by a touchdown late in the fourth quarter, but a Thomas Sirk 5-yard TD run forced overtime. Duke carried that momentum over to its first drive, which finished with a Ross Martin 36-yard field goal.
Indiana's opening drive overtime also ended with a field-goal attempt, however, Griffin Oakes' 38-yard try was called no good.
Oakes though he made, but a field goal isn't reviewable. Here's a closer look at the play:
