As the Boston Red Sox continue to evaluate the team heading into the offseason, changes should be expected. One of those changes? Outfield positions.
Rusney Castillo (who had mainly played right field during his MLB career) and Jackie Bradley Jr. (who had been playing left field but spent nearly all of 2014 as Boston's everyday center fielder) have been playing left and right field, respectively. Mookie Betts could be the next in line for a shift.
Red Sox interim manager Torey Lovullo spoke with the media before Tuesday's game at the Baltimore Orioles, and explained that Betts is progressing to the point where he is comfortable playing a corner outfield spot during a game.
Betts played some right field toward the end of 2014, but has spent the majority of 2015 as Boston's every day center fielder and leadoff hitter.
Check out Lovullo's comments as seen on NESN's "Red Sox First Pitch" in the video above.
