CALGARY – Drivers in the city's southeast are seeing major slowdowns due to an issue with the 11 Street S.E. bridge near Deerfoot Trail.

The problems started at around 6 a.m., causing intermittent closures of eastbound Glenmore Trail between Blackfoot Trail and Deerfoot Trail, as well as the ramps from eastbound Glenmore Trail to north and southbound Deerfoot Trail.

The City of Calgary said the bridge problems were caused by an upheaval in an expansion joint. The issue left debris on the road, causing some drivers to suffer flat tires.
