CALGARY – A duplex in the community of Kilarney was badly damaged by a fire Monday evening.
The blaze broke out in the 300 block of 29 Street S.W. at around 4:25 p.m.
When firefighters arrived, they found flames and smoke pouring from a window.
The Calgary Fire Department said the main floor of the duplex was empty, and a tenant in the lower level was able to get out safely before they arrived on scene.
Firefighters remained at the scene for much of the evening to monitor hot spots.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
