In a a bowl season to forget, it appeared the Alamo Bowl would be yet another blowout. The No. 15 Oregon Ducks held a 31-point lead at halftime, and the No. 11 TCU Horned Frogs were without suspended starting quarterback Trevone Boykin.

But in a stunning turn of events, the Horned Frogs scored 31 unanswered points to force overtime. They eventually finished the comeback off in style when they scored a touchdown in the third overtime en route to a 47-41 win.

So how did TCU pull off the incredible comeback? Obviously the coaches and players did most of the work, especially senior backup quarterback Bram Kohlhausen, who completed 28 of 45 passes for 351 yards with two touchdowns.

But did a wardrobe change also help?

Horned Frogs head coach Gary Patterson changed his shirt at halftime to a purple polo. He said he made the switch to help change the energy around the TCU sideline, and then his team matches the largest comeback in bowl history.

Coincidence? We think not.
