Zdeno Chara didn't get the captain's "C" for nothing.
The Boston Bruins' defenseman created the scoring opportunity that led to his own goal just moments later and put the B's on top against the Colorado Avalanche early Thursday.
After some nice puck movement from the entire team, Chara ripped a slapshot on net. Matt Beleskey tried to punch the rebound home, but managed to kick the puck back out to a wide open Chara instead, who shifted the defense with his movement away from the puck before a second wide-open shot that found the back of the net.
NESN's Andy Brickley broke down the play in the Berkshire Bank Exciting Rewing. Check it out in the video above.
