Alessandro Florenzi deserves credit for even thinking of doing something like this, let alone pulling it off.

Florenzi scored a stunning long-range goal for AS Roma against Barcelona in the first half of the teams' UEFA Champions League opener.

Florenzi was feet from the sideline and just inside the halfway line when he beat Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegenshot with the boldest of shots in the 31st minute.

Some estimate Florenzi shot from 65 yards away from Barcelona's goal.

This might be the best goal scored in the Champions League this season. Stay tuned between now and late May.

The teams are tied 1-1 in the first half.
