It might not be long before the Detroit Lions' backfield belongs to Ameer Abdullah.

Running backs Joique Bell and Theo Riddick are listed ahead of Abdullah on Detroit's depth chart, but the 2015 second-round pick wasted no time in showcasing his skills Sunday against the San Diego Chargers. Abdullah ripped off a 24-yard touchdown run on his first NFL carry.

Abdullah, the 54th overall selection in the most recent draft, was a standout at the University of Nebraska. It wouldn't be surprising if he's an NFL standout in the Motor City soon enough.
