The Boston Red Sox aren't technically eliminated from playoff contention just yet. But with the team trailing by seven games with 13 remaining, postseason prospects are dim.

Red Sox president and CEO Larry Lucchino stopped by NESN's "Red Sox Gameday Live" on Tuesday, and lamented the team's absence as fall rapidly approaches.

Lucchino will step down as team president at the conclusion of the season, and talked about what his role in Boston has meant to him over the years.
