TORONTO --  A jury has found Cindy Ali guilty of first-degree murder in the death of her disabled daughter.

Cynara Ali, a 16-year-old with cerebral palsy died in February 2011 after being taken off life support at Sick Kids hospital. Her cause of death was never established, but Crown lawyers said Ali smothered the girl with a pillow.

Ali, 45, said her daughter died after a mysterious home invasion by two men, but police found no evidence to support the claim.
