Dustin Pedroia is back in the Boston Red Sox's lineup Saturday, and that's a good thing.
The Red Sox second baseman has missed a few games here and there since returning from the disabled list earlier in the month. The team is being cautious with Pedroia, though, hoping to ease him back into the action and make sure the hamstring that caused him to miss significant time this season is fully healed.
Pedroia is on the same page as well, as The Boston Globe's Pete Abraham told Tom Caron on "Red Sox Gameday Live" on Saturday that the 32-year-old's goal is to finish the season healthy.
"I think (the Red Sox are) doing the right thing because of that hamstring," Abraham said. "He's never had (that injury) before, and the last thing you want is him to go into the winter with some kind of aggravation of it that limits his training in the winter."
