The B.C. Government says it is planning to open 60 more housing units for the homeless in Greater Victoria.

Housing Minister Rich Coleman took a tour of one of three homeless shelters the government has already set up. It's hoped the shelters will convince the people who remain at a controversial homeless camp on the courthouse lawn to leave their tent city.

But a number of campers are refusing to go, saying they need a home and not just a shelter.

"I'm not entirely happy with the process," said one camper.

The government has applied for a court order to move the camp, but says there will be no drastic action.

Coleman said it is "amazing" what has been done at Mount Edwards Court already and said the situation will only get better.
