Summary: With longtime MLA Yogi Huyghebaert retiring, voters in Wood River will elect a new representative this election.
Boundaries: A large riding along Saskatchewan's southern border, Wood River roughly spans the area from Bracken and Coronach to the south, extending as far north to the west as Swift Current, and as far north to the east as Mossbank and Ormiston. The riding's largest community is Assiniboia, but also includes Ponteix, Gravelbourg and Mossbank.
Last Election: Huyghebaert defeated NDP candidate Randy Gaudry by over 4300 votes, 82-14 per cent - one of the largest margins in the province.
History: The riding has been held by Huyghebaert since 2000. Prior to that, it was held by Glen McPherson as a NDP representative from 1991 to 1995, and as a Liberal from 1995 to 2000.

Saskatchewan Party: Dave Marit, farmer and Board of Director for the Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities.
NDP: Brenda Shenher, a costume designer and board member for SaskCulture.
Liberal: Edward Ives, a steelworker at EVRAZ.
Green: Judy Mergel, owner of Mergel Ranch.
