Some of the hardest, most important lessons are learned in high school, some of our most transitive years.

Just ask Burrillville High School, who learned the hard life lesson that you don't celebrate until you've actually won something.

The Broncos thought they had won a Rhode Island state championship in basketball, and one BHS player celebrated in kind. The only problem, of course, was that time hadn't actually expired.

The premature celebration was, just that, premature. The referees added time back on the clock after ruling Chariho High School had retrieved the ball thrown in the air as part of Burrillville's celebration and called timeout.

Chariho drew up a brilliant play out of the timeout, and by now, you can probably predict how things turned out for poor old BHS>

Sometimes, life's most important lessons are the hardest to learn.
