KELOWNA- The Kelowna Rockets continue to find ways to win.

The Rockets got through Spokane Saturday night at Prospera Place, getting a little revenge for the embarrassing loss earlier this month against those same Chiefs.

Justin Kirkland and Tomas Soustal came up with big goals in the shootout for Kelowna (44-16-3-0). They were helped in regulation by a strong performance in between the pipes by Michael Herringer and goals by Dillon Dube,

Johnathan Smart, and Rourke Chartier. Herringer stopped both attempts he faced in the shootout.

With the win, Kelowna takes back first overall place in the WHL standings from the Victoria Royals. The Rockets have a game in hand. Spokane (29-24-5-4) sits at eighth in the Western Conference.

On a night where Kelowna honored Former captain Gavin McLeod and Chicago Blackhawks star Duncan Keith, the Rockets celebrated by inching one step closer to a WHL record for consecutive 50-win seasons.

Kelowna now heads into a lengthy break. They next play Friday and Saturday against Kamloops in a home-and-home.
