Calgarians have been enjoying an unusually warm and dry February so far.
As of Friday, according to official records from Environment Canada, there has only been 0.2 mm of rain in the city since Jan. 25. Typically if you are talking about moisture this time of year in this region it is snow.
On any given day in February in Calgary you have a 24 per cent chance of snow. The average snowfall for Calgary for the month of February is 14.5 cm. So far that column in the records for 2016 is full of zeros.
As we approach the end of the month that is going to change.
This is not to suggest that we are in danger of blizzard-like conditions like other parts of the country have been dealing with.
A blizzard on Feb. 9 dumped about 40 centimetres of snow in the Halifax area.
But it might not be a bad idea to reintroduce yourself to your snow brush. Between precipitation probability and cooler temperatures, you may be dusting off your vehicle in the next few days.
