Jon Ryan's faceplant looked painful on national television, and the result confirmed our suspicions.

Ryan suffered a broken nose Sunday in the Seattle Seahawks' win over the Minnesota Vikings when his attempt at hurdling a Vikings defender ended in the most notable faceplant of Wild Card Weekend.

NBC Television cameras showed Ryan was in apparent pain, but the Seahawks punter played the final three quarters despite the injury.

Ryan used Twitter on Monday to share a picture of his banged-up face. Thankfully, he added som levity to his situation.

The Seahawks haven't announced his status for this Sunday's Divisional Round game against the Carolina Panthers.

What's the usual prognosis for a broken funny bone, anyway?
