Apparently there will be at least one vacancy on the New England Patriots' staff after the season.

The Detroit Lions are expected to hire Patriots director of pro scouting Bob Quinn as their next general manager, league sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Quinn and the Lions were working out the final details of his contract Friday night, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, and reportedly had the support of Patriots head coach Bill Belichick in the process.

A Norwood, Mass., native, Quinn has been in the Patriots' organization since 2000 and has spent his entire career in the New England area. After graduating from the University of Connecticut and serving as a Huskies graduate assistant for two seasons, Quinn got a job as a player personnel assistant for the Patriots in 2000. He quickly rose through the team's scouting ranks until taking over his current role, which he assumed in 2012.

Quinn will have his work cut out for him in Detroit, where team owner Martha Firestone Ford cleaned house in November by firing team president Tom Lewand and general manager Martin Mayhew. The Lions hired Michigan native Rod Wood to replace Wood in late November but had yet to name a new GM as of Friday.
