Anthony Martial sure looks, and scores, like the real deal.
Martial notched his first-ever goal in the UEFA Champions League proper on Wednesday in Manchester United's 1-1 draw with CSKA Moscow. The 19-year-old star-in-the-making headed Antonio Valencia's delivery past goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev to tie the score at 1-1 in the 65th minute.
Martial, 19, now has scored five goals in his Manchester United career, which began in September following his arrival from French club Monaco in an eye-popping transfer worth £36 million ($55.5 million).
Many questioned why Manchester United paid so much for the inexperienced French striker. Martial's early goal-scoring record provides answers.
While Martial earned the Premier League's Player of the Month Award in September, he failed to score in Manchester United's first two Champions League group-stage games. Martial found his charm in his third game in European soccer's elite competition.
However, Martial didn't enjoy a perfect outing in Russia, as his hand ball inside Manchester United's penalty area led to CSKA Moscow's opening goal.
