Jon Flanagan is in contention for a return to the first-team squad, as Jurgen Klopp confirmed Liverpool will once again shuffle the pack for Wednesday's FA Cup third-round game with Exeter City at Anfield.
The full-back has returned to fitness following a knee injury that ruled him out of the entire 2014-15 season and the opening months of the current campaign.
In recent weeks, Flanagan has turned out for the Reds' U21 side and is now on the brink of a senior return for the first time since May 2014 in Wednesday's FA Cup third-round replay with the Grecians.
"Jon is in a really good way and we're all happy about this," Klopp told reporters.
"He is not (ready) for the starting line-up, but if nothing happens and he feels good then he will be on the bench. If there is a situation then we will bring him (on) of course. It has really been a long time for him.
"I think now it's the first step back for him to breathe in and feel Anfield; being back in the dressing room, not in a suit but a tracksuit, so it's a good, good step for him. If nobody tells me something different, he will be in the squad."
