Tiger Woods' marriage fell to pieces six years ago after he cheated on ex-wife Elin Nordegren.
At the time, the could had an infant and a two-year-old toddler together. Now, Sam, 8, and Charlie, 6, are much older. They're going to hear things. They're going to ask questions. So Woods took control of the situation.
In a revealing interview with TIME Magazine, Woods revealed that he sat his kids down to explain why their parents don't live in the same house.
"Daddy made some mistakes," Woods told TIME he said to his kids.
"I just want them to understand before they get to the Internet age and they log on to something or have their friends tell them something," Woods added. "I want it to come from me so that when they come of age, I'll just tell them the real story.
"And so, that's part of the initiative -- 'Hey, it was my fault too. I was to blame' -- and so I'm taking initiative with the kids. I'd rather have it come from me as the source. And I can tell them absolutely everything so they hear it from me."
Woods also said he is stressing to his children that both their mother and father love them very much.
