Ronda Rousey has broken her silence, nearly one month after her unbeaten record was.
The former UFC women's bantamweight champion gave her first interview since she shockingly lost her belt to Holly Holm on Nov. 14. ESPN used a revealing Rousey quote to promote Ramona Shelburne's ESPN The Magazine story, which will be released Tuesday.
If Rousey can't take impact for three to six months after Holm's stunning knockout, then she absorbed more than simply a cut lip and a concussion. UFC president Dana White denied rumors that Rousey had a broken jaw, according to Yahoo! Sports, and People Magazine's preview of Shelburne's story mentions the UFC megastar still has a few unstable teeth and now-dissolving stitches in her lip.
"Maybe I can't do it all before my prime, before my body is done," Rousey told Shelburne, per People. "But f--- it, maybe I can."
Rousey, who's now 12-1, said before the now-infamous UFC 193 bout that she planned to talk some time off from fighting. Her injuries might have forced the issue, but a return in six months could set the stage for White's promised Rousey-Holm rematch sometime next year.
UFC 200 is scheduled for July 9, 2016, at the new Las Vegas Arena. Just sayin'.
