The Red Sox outrighted outfielder/first baseman Allen Craig to Triple-A Pawtucket. They also outrighted pitchers Jean Machi and Alexi Ogando, making them both free agents. Sandy Leon was outrighted, but he accepted a spot with the PawSox. Pitcher Ryan Cook was claimed off waivers by the Chicago Cubs. Boston also reinstated Clay Buchholz, Koji Uehara, Anthony Varvaro, Brandon Workman and Christian Vazquez from the 60-day disabled list.
