FOXBORO, Mass. -- Jamie Collins' illness continues to linger and keep the New England Patriots linebacker out of practice.

Collins didn't practice for the Patriots on Wednesday, and it appeared he wasn't at the facility either, since his chair was still propped up by his locker. Cornerback Justin Coleman (hand) and wide receiver Julian Edelman (foot) also were absent for the Patriots' first practice of the week.

Offensive tackles Marcus Cannon (toe) and Sebastian Vollmer (concussion) returned to practice alongside guard Tre' Jackson (knee). That's a good sign for the Patriots, who have been ravaged with injuries on their offensive line.

Recent practice squad signees Brock Vereen and Chris Greenwood practiced at cornerback for the Patriots. The Patriots might need to elevate Vereen or Greenwood before Monday's matchup with the Buffalo Bills if Coleman can't play.
