Julian Edelman took a big hit on the New England Patriots' opening drive Sunday against the Washington Redskins at Gillette Stadium.

No biggie.

Edelman not only bounced back up immediately after the bone-crunching lick, which earned Kyshoen Jarrett a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty. The Patriots wide receiver also hauled in an 8-yard touchdown pass from Tom Brady on the next play.

Edelman had to fight tooth and nail for the game-opening score. He laid out near the goal line and reached across to break the plane.

The TD grab was Edelman's seventh of the season, marking a new career high for No. 11.
