Christian Benteke is playing like he has no intention of leaving the starting lineup.
Benteke scored a fine goal Thursday in Liverpool's UEFA Europa League game against Bordeaux. Benteke shot past goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso on the stroke of halftime to give Liverpool a 2-1 lead.
Benteke demonstrated excellent technique in controlling Nathaniel Clyne's pass and a powerful right leg in beating Carrasso.
The goal was Benteke's first in Europa League play and fifth in all competitions this season.
The 24-year-old Belgian joined Liverpool from Aston Villa this summer in a £32.5 million ($50.6 million) transfer. A hamstring injury he suffered in late September cost him four games last month, and Roberto Firmino filled in well for him at center forward.
Benteke returned to the starting lineup against Bordeaux. The French club paid the price to Anfield's delight.
