The New England Patriots' battered offensive line took another hit Sunday night.

Left tackle Marcus Cannon left the Patriots' game against the Indianapolis Colts late in the first quarter. The team announced Cannon had suffered a toe injury and that his return was questionable.

New England responded to Cannon's injury by shifting Sebastian Vollmer from right tackle to left tackle and inserting Cameron Fleming into Vollmer's usual spot.

Cannon, who has seen action at every offensive line position but center in his NFL career, was starting in place of left tackle Nate Solder, who was placed on season-ending injured reserve earlier this week with a torn biceps muscle.

Sunday marked the season debut for Fleming, a 2014 fourth-round draft pick who was promoted from New England's practice squad on Saturday.
