Alex Rodriguez is no spring chicken, and it's certainly not the first time he's made the playoffs.

But the New York Yankees veteran looked every bit like a rookie during his team's celebration Thursday night.

The Yankees topped the Boston Red Sox 4-1 in the Bronx to clinch an American League Wild Card spot and a berth in Major League Baseball's postseason. As another AL East team did just days ago, the Yankees celebrated with a few adult beverages after the game.

Here's how that went for A-Rod:

So far, so good, right?

Yikes.

Of course, the 40-year-old veteran deserves some credit for posting this photo to his own Instagram page, and it's clear the prospect of the postseason has rendered him into a giddy school-child, which is pretty awesome to see.

Yet A-Rod and the Yankees will have their work cut out for them if they want the good times to continue: They'll need to defeat any of four potential teams in a one-game Wild Card playoff before taking on either the Toronto Blue Jays or Kansas City Royals in the AL Division Series.

For now, though, we'll let A-Rod have his fun.
