Hanley Ramirez's 2015 season is officially over.
Boston Red Sox interim manager Torey Lovullo announced Thursday that Ramirez's shoulder injury will sideline him for the rest of the season. Lovullo added that Ramirez's effort never fluctuated after getting hurt.
"Unfortunately his shoulder was not responding the way we wanted it to," Lovullo said on "Red Sox Gameday Live" before Boston took on the Tampa Bat Rays on Thursday. "His effort, his focus, his interest in playing first base never ever wavered. It was just a matter of his right shoulder not responding to what he was asking it to do."
