One of Hanley Ramirez's goals this season was to avoid the disabled list. However, that ended Saturday when he was placed on the 15-day DL due to right shoulder inflammation.

Ramirez addressed his injury with NESN's Gary Striewski before the Red Sox hosted the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday.

"That was one of my goals this year, not go to the DL, and help this team win as many games as we can," Ramirez said on "Red Sox Gameday Live" before Saturday's game. "It's really disappointing for me and I think for Red Sox Nation."
