REGINA - Just one day after the resignation of an NDP candidate in Saskatoon over comments made on social media, another NDP candidate has announced his resignation from the party.

On Friday morning the Saskatchewan Party brought to light a Facebook post made by Weyburn-Big Muddy NDP candidate Mark Jeworski on October 2nd, 2015 that stated:

"Lots wrong with nuclear and that is one resource I'd agree to be left in the ground."

Saskatchewan Party leader Brad Wall said in a release that he believes this type of thinking would destroy Saskatchewan's economy.

"There are over 4,000 people employed in the uranium industry in Saskatchewan and nearly half of those workers are First Nations and Métis," Wall said.

"Yet here we have an NDP candidate who wants to shut down the entire uranium industry, destroy an important part of Saskatchewan's economy and put 4,000 people out of work."

The NDP announced early Friday morning that Jeworski had tendered his resignation due to personal reasons.
