EDMONTON — Police have laid charges against three people after a break and enter Monday in northeast Edmonton sent a man to hospital with life-threatening gunshot wounds.

At around 2 p.m., officers were called to reports of a home invasion and shooting near 25 Street and 133 Avenue, in the Kernohan neighbourhood.

The victim, a 31-year-old man, was taken to hospital in very serious, life-threatening condition.

Police said a vehicle was seen leaving the scene at the time of the incident. It was later found in another part of north Edmonton, near 85 Street and 136 Avenue in the community of Glengarry.

Several people were taken into police custody for questioning once the vehicle was found.

Police are holding a news conference at 10:30 Thursday morning to answer questions about the incident.
