WINNIPEG -- About 300 contraband seizures were made at the Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport last year. The Canadian Border Services Agency says most of those weapons were disguised.

Customs officers seized 35 prohibited weapons, including ninja stars and knives, that were in a package marked "cutlery" and destined for Alberta. In June, officers also searched a shipment from China and found material that is used in the production of the date-rape drug. The importer of the product, was later arrested by Winnipeg police.

This is just a fraction of what the customs team at the airport intercept every day.
