CALGARY – Periods of light snow and freezing rain caused problems for Calgary commuters on Monday.

The precipitation and cold temperatures caused city streets to become slippery, causing the most issues on bridge decks and entrance/exit ramps.

Police said 36 crashes were reported throughout the city between 8 p.m. on Sunday and 3:30 a.m. on Monday, including five with injury.

The forecast high for Monday is -2°, with afternoon sunshine expected.
