CALEDON, Ont. -- Provincial police are investigating after a man was found dead in Caledon, Ont., northwest of Toronto.

Investigators say they received a call shortly after 12 a.m. Saturday that a pedestrian may have been struck on a major road.

They say that when officers arrived, they found a man lying in the snow on the road's shoulder.

Police have identified the man as 35-year-old Baljit Singh Kandal, of Brampton.

They say the driver whose vehicle allegedly struck Kandal stayed at the scene, and there's no word on charges.

Police are continuing their investigation.
