The San Jose Sharks' top need entering Monday's 3 p.m. ET NHL trade deadline was improving their backup goalie position, and general manager did just that Saturday.

He acquired James Reimer rom the Toronto Maple Leafs, in addition to AHL-caliber forward Jeremy Morin in exchange for goalie Alex Stalock, forward Ben Smith and a conditional 2018 fourth-round draft pick.

Reimer has played pretty well this season despite the Leafs' defensive shortcomings. He has an 11-12-7 record with a 2.49 goals against average and a .919 save percentage 32 games played (29 starts) for Toronto this season.

The addition of Reimer should help a Sharks team that ranks 18th in GAA and 23rd in penalty killing.
