Fire crews were called to a fire in a commercial building in the 1800 block of Salisbury Road shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday night.

The blaze completely destroyed the cabinet-making business, owned by woodworker Jon Black.

"It's very disheartening and disappointing, but luckily no one was in there and no one is injured," Black told Global News Thursday.

Fire fighters from Moncton Fire and departments in Riverview and Salisbury had to ferry water to the site from a hydrant a short distance away, making their battle against the stubborn fire a difficult one.

The fire was brought under control a while later, but the building is now a total loss.

"It's just tools at the end of the day, but it's just a big hula hoop to jump through." Black said.
