Toronto police have issued a community safety alert following the prison release of a convicted sex offender on Thursday.
Cole Burns, 22, served three years in jail for a number of offences including sexual assault, break-and-enter, overcome resistance (choking), assault and fail to attend court.
Authorities say the alert was issued due to the possibility he could re-offend. Police say he will be living in Toronto.
Under his release conditions, Burns will have to report to police weekly, is not able to attend any daycare centre, school ground, playground, arcade, public swimming area, or public park and not allowed to enter into any intimate relationship, cohabitation, marriage or common-law relationship with a female until that person has been identified to police.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-7474 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
