Torey Krug took the meaning of "defenseman" to the next level Saturday night.
With the game tied at 2, the Boston Bruins' blueliner scurried over in front of Boston's net after goaltender Tuukka Rask snuck into the corner to make a play on the puck.
But when the opposing Toronto Maple Leafs made their way down the ice faster than expected, the B's were between a rock and a hard place. Fortunately, Krug squeezed in and made the play of the game. The Black and Gold scored the go-ahead goal quickly after and went on to win 3-2.
His efforts earned him an unconventional award: the DCU Save of the Day. NESN's Jack Edwards and Andy Brickley broke down the play in the video above.
