J.J. Watt is going to be spending his offseason recovering now that the Houston Texans are knocked out of the NFL Playoffs.

The Texans defensive end exited Saturday's AFC Wild Card Game loss to the Kansas City Chiefs early after re-aggravating a groin injury. And the team announced Sunday that Watt will be getting surgery Tuesday to repair it.

Houston head coach Bill O'Brien didn't go into any detail other than calling it a "significant groin injury," but Watt told reporters he'd been dealing with it for six or seven weeks. ESPN's Ed Werder added Sunday that Watt was in enough pain that the team had to drive him from NRG Stadium to his car after the game.

Watt played on 96 percent of the Texans' snaps in the regular season, amassing 17 1/2 sacks and 57 tackles.
