The family of Marine Corps Maj. John Ruocco joined "NESN Sports Today" on Friday to talk about his life.

He died in 2005, and the family turned to the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) afterwards. The organization found that one of the things that helps family members heal is to meet athletes, which John's son, Bill Ruocco, did recently with UFC fighter Rob Font.

Hear the Ruocco family's story in the video from "NESN Sports Today" above.
