The Boston Red Sox searched for an ace this offseason, and they found one in David Price.

The left-hander has brought renewed hope to the Red Sox's rotation, and one of his fellow pitchers and former teammates with the Detroit Tigers is happy to have him around.

"He's everything that we need," Rick Porcello told NESN.com's Michaela Vernava on Saturday at the Red Sox's Baseball Winter Weekend event at Foxwoods Resort Casino. "I think everybody knows what he can do on the field, but his leadership qualities in the clubhouse are something that are extremely valuable and can't be overlooked.

"It's only going to be beneficial for our team, so I'm definitely excited to have him."
