Friday's Boston Bruins-Buffalo Sabres game featured a once-in-a-season occurrence for veteran forward Max Talbot.
Entering the game, Talbot had not dropped the gloves since before his trade to the Boston Bruins last season, but he decided to do so midway after a David Legwand goal put Buffalo ahead late in the first period.
Talbot challenged Sabres winger Johan Larsson 24 seconds after Legwand's tally, and the two proceeded to trade a lengthy exchange of punches before officials finally separated them.
It was the Talbot's first fight since Dec. 5, 2014, when he still was a member of the Colorado Avalanche. He's dropped the gloves once in each of the last five seasons, according to HockeyFights.com.
