It's official.
The Red Sox signed left-handed pitcher David Price on Friday to a seven-year contract, which runs through the 2022 season with an opt-out clause after 2018. The team didn't announce any financials, but the deal reportedly is worth $217 million.
The Red Sox tweeted out a GIF of Price in a Boston uniform after the deal was made official.

Boston designated infielder/outfielder Garin Cecchini for assignment to make room for Price on the 40-man roster.
Price, who will wear No. 24 in Boston, is a five-time All-Star and the 2012 Cy Young Award winner.
Price will hold his first press conference Friday around 5:15 p.m. ET. You can watch it live on NESN or via a live stream on NESN.com here.
