St. Louis fans might lose even if the Rams beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night.

Rams owner Stan Kroenke has been making a big push this season to move the team to Los Angeles, and this week's edition of "Thursday Night Football" could very well be the last time NFL football is played in St. Louis. And for fans, that's a sobering reality.

"I'm hoping that they stay," Rams fans Lawrence Roberts told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "Best outcome is Kroenke just sells the team to investors. Thirty-one other owners can have something invested into their community, but you rarely ever see Stan Kroenke interact with the fans or have anything to do with the fans whatsoever. You never see Stan on the sidelines and you never see Stan in the stands.

"Even when they go bad, we're still behind them."

In a turn of events, the city of St. Louis has made a push for a new stadium, and Houston Texans owner Bob McNair said recently that it could very well be enough for the team to stay put, per the Houston Chronicle. McNair believes that, as of right now, the Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers are the favorites to move to L.A.

Still, there's also the possibility that the NFL won't reach a decision for 2016 and fans will have to wait until 2017 to see if their team will move away. And until then, Rams fans are trying to keep their dreams alive.

"Let's hope tomorrow's not their last game," St. Louis fan William Jeffries told the Post-Dispatch. "I wouldn't want them to leave. Because then what would we do on Sundays?"
