Louis van Gaal heard the rumors, which claim he's close to losing his job as Manchester United's manager. Naturally, he has something to say on the subject.
Van Gaal responded forcefully -- even ranted -- to questions about his future Wednesday during his pregame press conference ahead of his team's visit to Stoke City on Saturday. Then he walked out on the astonished media.
Van Gaal took charge of the Red Devils in July 2014 and them back into the top four places in the Premier League standings last season. But progress appears to be stalling this season, and results have suffered in recent weeks.
Chelsea's firing of Jose Mourinho last week created a new link between him and Manchester United, heaping extra pressure onto van Gaal.
Several English newspapers reported Tuesday Manchester United was set to replace van Gaal with Mourinho. Their first chance to question van Gaal on his future came Wednesday.
We're pretty sure they won't have another one -- either by van Gaal's or other peoples' choices.
